Description
The EC130B4 is approved to fly with only one pilot, it is equipped with conventional collective control. The dashboard equipment was configured to reduce the pilot's workload through the VEMD – Vehicle and Engine Management Display, that is, an engine management display. The EC 130 also has a Honeywell ground proximity warning system, integrated with a Garmin 430 GPS and a digital display that provides a three-dimensional image of the terrain flown over.
The EC 130 is equipped with a Turbomeca Arriel 2B1 turbine and has a power of 632 kW or 847 hp. The engine is equipped with dual-channel FADEC, with analog backup. The flight systems have duplicate equipment. Thus, there are two flight computers, multiple engine sensors, as well as two hydraulic systems.
The EC 130 B4 can accommodate the pilot plus 2 passengers in the front seats and a further 4 passengers in the rear seats. It has a range of 640 km and a cruising speed of 235 km/h.
