The Bell 206B3 JetRanger III is powered by a Rolls-Royce (Allison) 250-C20B and later 250-C20J engine, with the tail rotor diameter increased by two inches to provide better yaw control. The five-seat 206B3 is a derivative of the original Bell 206A JetRanger, which was certified by the FAA in October 1966, powered by a 250-C18 turboshaft. The JetRanger III has a maximum takeoff weight of 1,451 kg (3,200 lb.) or up to 1,519.5 kg (3,350 lb.) with an external load. One of the most popular light turbine helicopter families ever produced, production of the JetRanger ended in 2010 with completion of the last 206B3.
